Query by Criminal Minds is the greatest!: Are all memory cards for digital cameras universal?
I was contemplating of obtaining a Sony Cyber-shot. ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-DSCH55-B/13812631 )

I some SanDisk memory cards, and perhaps some other brands, and I was pondering if particular cameras have diverse memory cards. Can all memory cards be interchangeable?

No. And as a matter of simple fact, Sony’s only use Sony Memory stick cards. Some third events such as Sandisk do make Sony compatible memory stick cards even though. Most digital cameras use SD or SDHC cards I feel (Secure Digital)

As a matter of fact, the DSC-H55 does take the SD/SDHC cards in addition to their proprietary Memory Stick. It seems that Sony is starting to come around to the default standard. You will need to reformat the SD/SDHC cards you have in the camera.
